Prendete: 120 studenti dell’Istituto Alberghiero “G.de Carolis” di V e IV, il fascino di un cinema ricavato in una ex chiesa (la sala Pegasus), un film vincitore del Leone d’Oro, Todd Phillips regista e, soprattutto un eccezionale Joaquin Phoenix che abbiamo sentito recitare senza doppiaggio. Questi gli ingredienti che hanno reso le proiezioni mattutine, del 15 e 16 ottobre, di Joker interessanti tanto da far stare tutti col fiato sospeso a seguire la storia e a riflettere sul significato.
Il film viene ambientato nel 1981 a Gotham City, città immaginaria in cui vengono ambientati i fumetti DC comics, ormai sempre più preda del degrado e della disuguaglianza sociale.
Nel film si narrano le vicende di Arthur Fleck, aspirante comico con una perenne depressione e un disturbo che gli provoca incontrollabili attacchi di risate specialmente nei momenti di massima tensione, solo la risata di Joaquin Phoenix è, per il suo mix di sguaiato, isterico, stridulo, un copione a parte!
Altra caratteristica è il rapporto con l’anziana madre.

Nella pellicola veniamo a conoscenza che Arthur subisce un pestaggio da parte di alcuni teppisti: saputo della disavventura, un collega gli presta una pistola per difendersi, ma questa gli cade di tasca durante un’esibizione per i bambini ricoverati in un ospedale pediatrico, facendogli perdere il posto. Quella stessa notte, mentre torna a casa in metropolitana ancora truccato da pagliaccio, Arthur viene preso di mira da un gruppo di giovani yuppie a causa della sua condizione, a causa del pestaggio subito estrae la pistola e li uccide a sangue freddo costringendolo a scappare e a nascondersi dalla polizia. La notizia appare su tutte le testate giornalistiche locali identificando il Killer come un pagliaccio, a seguito di ciò i cittadini cominciano ad identificarsi in questo “giustiziere”.
“Per tutta la vita non ho mai saputo se esistevo veramente, ma esisto. E le persone iniziano a notarlo.”
Il protagonista, motivato dalle insurrezioni locali decide di accettare i suoi disturbi mentali chiamandosi “JOKER”.

In a very short time, film of the year and winner of the golden lion
The film directed by the director Todd Phillips is a great success after the publication of the masterpiece on August 31st 2019, allowing the golden lion to win as the best film of the year.
Totally unexpected win given the genre of the Cine Comics genre film in Venice, surpassing the film “J’accuse” by Roman Polanski that slips into second place.
The film is set in 1981 in Gotham City, an imaginary city in which the DC comics comics are set, now more and more prey to degradation and social inequality. The film tells the story of Arthur Fleck, an aspiring comedian with a perennial depression and a disorder that causes him uncontrollable attacks of laughter especially in moments of maximum tension.

In the film we learn that the latter suffers a beating by some thugs: having heard of the mishap, a colleague lends him a gun to defend himself, but this falls from his pocket during a performance for children admitted to a pediatric hospital, making him lose his job. That same night, as he returns home on the subway still dressed as a clown, Arthur is targeted by a group of young yuppies because of his condition, because of the beating he immediately draws the gun and kills them in cold blood forcing him to escape and hide from the police. The news appears on all the local newspapers identifying the Killer as a clown, as a result of which the citizens begin to identify themselves in this “executioner”.

The protagonist, motivated by local uprisings, decides to accept his mental disorders by renaming himself “JOKER”
