When the canadian group was on its way to our school , IPSSART G. De Carolis, we, the “ welcome team”, were very anxious and excited at the same time. They came into our school and we welcomed them, starting with unfolding the history of the huge building of the former monastery, the church, the refectory, the cloister, and of course, the school. Then we showed them all the school’s sections, the kitchens, the restaurants, the classrooms and the labs.
After that they helped the students that were working in the kitchen and “waiters” with their work. We noticed that whatever they did there was always a smile upon their faces, therefore we are sure they really enjoyed this experience, as much as we did; they seemed very interested and curious.
Then we had lunch together, in the school. They later told me the food was excellent and the service brilliant. We had a wonderful time because we had the chance to confront and link our two cultures together. It was just perfect. I hope we’ll manage to stay in touch and repeat this experience again in the near future.
